According to dictionary.com (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/treason), here is the definition of treason:
| 1. | the offense of acting to overthrow one's government or to harm or kill its sovereign. |
| 2. | a violation of allegiance to one's sovereign or to one's state. |
| 3. | the betrayal of a trust or confidence; breach of faith; treachery. |
According to previews from former White House Press Secretary Scott McCellan (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1107/6994.html), President Bush, Vice President Cheney, and Karl Rove were involved in McCellan's providing false information to the American people about the Valerie Plame outing.
Valerie Plame was an undercover CIA agent in charge of nuclear anti-proliferation. Outing an undercover CIA agent, especially during a time of war, is a violation of allegiance to one's state. The cover-up (obstruction of justice) is as bad as the crime. I'm sick of the media dancing around the issue when talking about Scooter Libby, Bush, Cheney, and Rove. Call it what it is.
